3 SEX TRAFFICKING VICTIMS EXTRACTED FROM TRAFFICKERS IN SEPARATE CASES IN 24-HOUR PERIOD, 1 MAN ARRESTED
A large part of our work with partners in Europe has been learning the ins and outs of the different partial decriminalization models that exist. Overwhelming our European partners agree that the Equality Model is the most effective in allowing for strong anti trafficking programs while standing with survivors and minimizing harm to sex workers.
Sex buying, pimping, and trafficking must all be criminal if we are going to be able to identify and access true situations of exploitation, like the example below.
“Recently, a 12-year-old girl was found in a makeshift brothel, where she was bought and sold over a four-day period. Under full decriminalization, investigators would not have been able to find this missing child because they would have lacked probable cause to enter that property.”
